Santa Came to Town

Little Me’s Santa Claus appearance at Lord & Taylor drew lines.

Dozens of kiddies, parents and grandparents lined up at Little Me’s shop-in-shop at Lord & Taylor in New York City on Saturday to sit on Santa’s lap and to clue him in on their Christmas wish lists. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., pint-sized boys and girls met Kris Kringle, asked him questions, and posed with him for complimentary photos.  Little tikes also enjoyed milk and cookies, music by DJ Outsiders while moms had the option of indulging in a Bobbi Brown cosmetic makeover. Monogramming done on the spot was also complimentary for every Little Me item purchased.

Little Me cookies sweetened up the event.

Little Me’s Santa meet-and-greet couldn’t have been planned for a busier day. From 34th Street to The Plaza at Central Park South, Fifth Avenue was crawling with tourists and New Yorkers  looking to catch a glimpse of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, the windows at Bergdorf Goodman and maybe take a selfie in front of Trump Tower or spot a celebrity. Stores were hopping, too, with long lines at Uniqlo and Trump Tower neighbor Tiffany & Co., which now requires customers to pass through a security checkpoint to better protect the incoming president.

Back at Little Me’s shop at Lord & Taylor, shopping mattered, but even more so did the smiles and Santa. Company reps said that throughout the two-hour period, a steady stream of little ones lined up to see the biggest star of them all.
