Vancouver Kids Fashion Week Recap

Vancouver Kids Fashion Week is presented its third season of miniature style on the runway from Sept. 23 to Sept. 24. The two-day event, dedicated exclusively to children’s fashion, leverages kids’ designers on an international scale.

The first designer of the day was Vonbon, showcasing a Spring ’18 collection hip and casual appeal. Vonbon is a kids’ clothing line that specializes in fashionable yet eco-friendly clothing. The brand’s pieces included plaid, soft colors and fashionable headpieces.

Wildswan, a brand specializing in ballet and dance couture, transformed the catwalk to a stage to showcase the beauty of dancewear. The line was full of feminine patterns, including roses, swans and flowers in soft textual designs.

Os & Oakes presented a unisex collection of high-quality bamboo fabrics. The collection uses a black-and-white palette in a range of patterns and patchwork.

Cabriolle took the audience’s breath away with the beauty and elegance of its designs. The collection included formal dresses for children bedecked with lace, texture, tooling and luxury from head to toe.

Hugland closed the show Saturday with its collection of bold, geometric and colorful looks. Color-blocking was a common trend noted in this collection, as well as the tribal life.

The next day, Sept. 24, the show started with a heartwarming dance performance from Feng Feng, as well a mini boy band performance by Indigo Education.

Following the performance, Jax & Lennon Co took the catwalk with a line of sustainable clothing.  The brand used pastel colors to complement every skin tone.

Next was the feature exhibition of “Flower Season” by Chang Yu. This collection changed from traditional pieces with bold and colorful patterns and symbols.

Mayoral presented by VSI debuted an quality collection of fashion-forward pieces. The brand sent a variety of silhouettes down the runway, all striking a balance of trendy, comfortable and eco-friendly.

Working exclusively with bamboo fabrics, Lil Haven Co created an eco-friendly and sustainable collection that allows kids to feel comfortable from playwear to formal attire.

To close this season at Vancouver Kids Fashion Week was Yekaterina Ivanko by KZ Innovation, a Ukrainian designer. She showcased a collection of beauty fancy kid wear, perfect for formal dinners, events, or just playing dress up.
