An event with a good heart and great fashion
As Vancouver Fashion Week enters its 17th year and 28th season, the runway event has expanded its horizons for SS ’17 with the addition of Vancouver Kids Fashion Week (VFKW). The bustling west coast seaport housed the first VFKW on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25, making for a lively two-day event dedicated to children’s fashion and creativity. By partnering with British Columbia Children’s Hospital Foundation, VKFW became much more than a platform for tiny tots to strut their stuff. Striving to bring awareness to children in need, the event’s attendees could make charitable donations as well as participate in fun activities and educational workshops held at the end of each show by sponsors and volunteers.
From philanthropy to fashion, VFKW was setting the trends left and right. Here’s a recap of the top five trends we spotted on the runway:
