Gap has brought its 1969 Premium Denim collection, which bowed in the adult stores this past summer, to babies. In a line exclusive to babyGap stores, the new offering consists of Gap’s iconic denim pieces created with a new lightweight premium denim that promises comfort and a full range of movement for babies 0 to 24 months.

“This collection is all about the fit and fabric,” said Pam Wallack, president of babyGap, GapKids and GapMaternity. “Our team spent a great deal of time to get the pieces just right, and the result is a premium denim that is so soft it doesn’t require lining and a fit that complements all of baby’s ages and stages.”

Key pieces included a traditionally styled five-pocket jean for boys, a skirtall for girls and unisex overalls. The line also offers denim jackets and girls’ balloon pants and rompers. To complete baby’s outfit, Gap is also rolling out classic items to mix and match with the denim, including a white oxford bodysuit, a knit “pocket tee” bodysuit and a chambray one-piece.

The collection is now available in stores nationwide and online. babyGap plans to extend the line to toddler and kids’ sizes this fall, and will add new core and fashion pieces each season. Visit www.gap.com.
